Versico believes strongly in the value of education and training and provides many opportunities throughout the year, and across the United States, for our contractors and other audiences to improve their knowledge of and skill with Versico roofing systems. Versico Contractor Certification Seminar

The Certification Seminar is a prerequisite to becoming a Versico Certified Contractor. The class is also open to Versico-recognized sales representatives, distributors and manufacturers who would like to gain an overall understanding of roofing installations and best field practices.

Versico Foreman’s Workshop

Foreman’s Workshop is intended for individuals who already possess the skills to install single ply systems, but need a better understanding of inspection guidelines, customer relations and labor-saving techniques. Instructions and guidance provided by seasoned FSR Trainers.

EPDM 101
TPO/PVC 101

These one-day classes introduce attendees to different roofing membranes and systems, concentrating on what the products are and how they are used. These courses are a perfect way for roofing industry newcomers to develop a basic understanding of what Versico manufactures.

EPDM 201
TPO/PVC 201

These hands-on classes provide attendees with additional knowledge about the details and applications of Versico’s products and systems. These courses are ideal for those who would like a deeper dive into the membrane-specific details and have not attended the contractor training program. Prerequisites: Attendees must have completed a 101-level course and/or have a basic understanding of Versico’s products, systems, and equipment.

Specialty & Premium Products, New Products, and Boosting Productivity 301

These courses cover premium product lines and provide updates on new products through a combination of classroom time and hands-on demonstrations. Attendees will learn about specialty systems and materials and the labor-saving features of Versico’s products. Specialty & Premium Products topics include roof gardens, VersiFleece systems, and metal edging. Products & Labor Savings covers recent product updates and demonstrates these products’ productivity-boosting benefits. Prerequisites: Attendees must have completed the 101- and 201-level classes and must have a good understanding of Versico’s basic products, systems, and applications.

Understanding Design Criteria 401
AIA/ IIBEC accredited course

This advanced class teaches attendees how to apply the performance section of an architectural specification to a warrantable roof assembly. Utilizing web-based tools, attendees will learn how to determine whether a proposed system can meet specific design requirements. System examples will be used to enhance learning through classroom tutorials and testing demonstrations. Prerequisites: Attendees must have completed the 101-, 201-, and 301-level classes and must have advanced knowledge of Versico’s roofing systems, applications, systems, and warranties.

Industry Challenges 501
AIA/ IIBEC accredited course

This advanced class will examine common industry challenges, including the differences in versions of industry standards (ASCE, IBC, IECC, etc.), moisture in concrete, reflectivity, LEED, ES-1, and energy codes. At the end of this class, attendees will have a strong understanding of industry standards and building design science as it relates to single-ply roofing. Prerequisites: Attendees must have completed the 101-, 201-, 301-, and 401-level classes and must have advanced knowledge of Versico’s roofing systems, products, and applications, as well as a basic understanding of design aspects.

FAQs About Training with Versico

How much do the programs cost?

There is no charge to participate in any of our training programs. We also provide lunch on all full days of class.

What if I need to cancel my registration?

Please contact us directly at 717-245-7337 for cancellations. We ask you to let us know at least 2 weeks in advance of the class start date.

What lodging do you recommend?

Versico is not responsible for any costs associated with travel or lodging, however, we do have several hotels we recommend for each training location.

Once you sign up for a class, we will send a confirmation email to you. In that email, you will find information about lodging that is close to your training location. Some locations also have special rates for our training courses.

How much time will an employee have to spend away from the office?

This will depend on what course you register for. Please take note of the start and stop times for each type of training. The certification courses are 2.5 days, the Foreman’s classes are 5 days, and all other classes are 1 day each.

How do we achieve certification with Versico?

To become an official Certified Contractor with Versico, you must attend the full 2.5 days of training in one of our Contractor Certification courses. Certificates are issued at the conclusion of training. If you are a new roofer seeking certification, remember to make contact with your Versico representative before registering for a class.

What if an applicant doesn't speak English?

We have the ability to offer programs geared towards our Spanish audience, however, this will need to be discussed and scheduled prior to registering for classes. Please contact us at 717-245-7337 to discuss.

Do we need to bring our own tools?

No, we provide all the proper equipment.

Is there a dress code?

Due to the hands on nature of our workshops, we require long pants and close-toed shoes. Feel free to wear jeans and sneakers.

Does someone have to be a Foreman to enroll in the Foreman Training Program?

No, participants do not have to be foremen currently. Workers need to have been in the industry for at least four years before applying. Some companies may use this program to prepare an employee to become a foreman.
